Charlotte Auto Spa is the destination for professionally installed paint protection film. Paint protection film (aka clear bra) installation pricing is specific to vehicle’s make, model, and year. As car companies get more creative in their designs, accurately quoting paint protection film installs can be challenging as even the same make and model can have different trim and bumper designs. When reaching out to inquire about PPF pricing, please be sure to include as many details as possible so we can provide the most accurate quote. If you can send us a photo, that would be even better! Our team of experts are here to discuss options and make recommendations based upon your needs and deliver an installation unsurpassed in the industry

What is the difference between paint protection film and a ceramic coating?

Paint Protection Film (also known as clear bra) is a film that is applied to the vehicle’s surface designed to protect from minor rock chips and scratches caused by normal driving and road conditions.

A Ceramic Coating is a layer of ceramic glass that is designed to be a sacrificial layer that protects your vehicle’s paint against environmental factors. A ceramic coating’s highly hydrophobic finish also improves ongoing maintenance.

Both PPF and a ceramic coating will help protect against UV and oxidation damage.

Looking to protect your vehicle’s entire exterior?

Consider looking into our Ultimate Armor package that blends paint protection film on high impact areas to protect paint from chips and scratches, coupled with our Ultimate ION coating to prevent paint oxidation and ensure ease of cleaning and maintenance on the rest of the vehicle. This package takes half the time of a full body PPF job and comes in about half the cost, while still providing superior protection. Armor Up with Ultimate Armor!

How long does PPF take to install?

Though most small PPF jobs can be done in one day, we prefer to keep vehicles overnight to allow time for the PPF to dry out to ensure an optimal install. Full fronts are kept 2-3 days, full bodies can take 1-2 weeks depending on the complexity of the install.

How long does PPF last?

Our KAVACA PPF has a 12 year warranty against peeling, cracking, and yellowing.

How do I maintain my PPF?

The best way to maintain your new PPF is to hand wash your vehicle once a week (no automatic washes as they could lift edges or scratch the PPF). We recommend using a foam cannon, a ceramic after care soap, a microfiber wash mitt, and a microfiber drying towel. We carry aftercare products in shop to help make caring for your PPF a breeze.

You can also schedule an annual maintenance to decontaminate the PPF and seal it with a new top layer of ceramic to freshen it up.

How thick is KAVACA PPF?

KAVACA PPF is 8mils thick.

Can I put PPF on matte paint?

YES! We actually believe it is exceptionally important to protect your matte paint as, due to its nature, it can not be paint corrected, which means to fix any defects the vehicle needs to be repainted. Our KAVACA Matte PPF comes with a 12 year warranty and is the perfect solution to keeping that beautiful sheen in prime condition.

Can I have PPF installed on a coated vehicle?

Ceramic coatings are designed to prevent materials from sticking to your paint which makes it challenging to get PPF to fully adhere to a coated surface. If your vehicle is coated, we will need to strip the coating to ensure the PPF is able to properly bond to the paint.

If you are debating both services but don’t want to do them at the same time, we recommend PPF first and coating at at later date.
